Key qualifications

• I have an M.Sc. in Management of Nature and Natural Resources, and 26 years of professional experience in most aspects of environmental conservation management, particularly of tropical forests and wetlands and their habitats and species. My experience covers Indonesia (19⁺ years), Cambodia (2⁺ years), and Kenya (4½ years), and includes research, training, communication, capacity building, policy advice, programme-development, -management and -administration, and fundraising.
• On the interface of natural ecosystems and human society, I have worked with community groups, NGOs, and national/local government agencies on participative policy development and adaptive co-management for sustainable development and empowerment of local communities and professionals.
• I have initiated, implemented, and managed programmes and projects for different employers and donor organizations (international NGOs, bilateral aid agencies, commercial). I handled the associated financial, legal, administrative, and human resource matters: proposal- and work-planning and reporting, administration, budgeting and accounting, procurement and assets management; leading and coaching multi-cultural teams, including their TOR and job descriptions, and (sub)contracting; training needs assessment, course-design, curriculum-development, lesson planning, course implementation, and evaluation, including teaching and materials; networking, lobbying, advocacy. I have organized (international) conferences, workshops, steering committees, etc.
